The Pench National Park offers an exciting itinerary with morning and afternoon jeep safaris, complemented by meals and overnight stays at the resort. Encompassing a vast expanse of 758 sq. km, this Southern Indian tropical moist deciduous forest seamlessly transitions into the tropical dry deciduous teak.

A network of seasonal streams and ‘nallahs’ crisscrosses the region, adding to its natural allure. Despite the Pench River drying up by the end of April, essential water sources persist in the form of local ‘dohs,’ serving as vital watering holes for the diverse wildlife. The Pench Reservoir, centrally located, becomes the primary water source during the dry period, attracting a concentration of prey and making it an ideal location for tiger sightings.

While tigers often hunt near the Pench River, leopards tend to roam the peripheral areas, occasionally venturing into the deep forest. The open sites along roadsides and riverbanks witness frequent grazing by Cheetal and Sambar, creating picturesque scenes. Jackals roam freely throughout the park in search of sustenance, while packs of wild dogs, numbering up to 15 or more, can be observed in specific areas like Chhedia, Jamtara, Bodanala, and Pyorthadi.

In the summer months, herds of gaur can be spotted near streams and bamboo patches, adding to the diverse wildlife spectacle. Sloth bears, preferring rocky terrain and mahul bel-infested forests, occupy distinct niches within the park. Chinkaras, although present in minimal numbers, can also be glimpsed in open areas, completing the mosaic of Pench National Park’s rich biodiversity.

A morning jeep safari takes you to the Pench national park from where you can drive to Kanha national park in 4-5 hours. On arrival at the park, tourists can check into the resort where you can enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the resort in Kanha.

Wake up at 0500hrs, have tea/coffee with biscuits, and proceed for the morning safari to the National park. Kanha’s sal and bamboo forests, rolling grasslands and meandering streams stretch over 940 sq. km in dramatic natural splendor which forms the core of the Kanha Tiger Reserve created in 1974 under Project Tiger.

The park is the only habitat of the rare hardground Barasingha (Cervus Duvauceli Branderi). This is the original Kipling country of which he wrote so vividly in his Jungle Book. Packed breakfast which comes from the lodge is served at a designated spot and spread on the bonnet of the Safari vehicle. Enjoy your breakfast in the wilderness of Kanha National Park. The oldest sign of habitation in the park are caves dug into the sandstone to the north of the fort. Several contain Brahmi inscriptions dating from the 1st century B.C. Various dynasties have ruled the fort, for example, the Maghas from the 1st century A.D., the Vakatakas from the 3rd century A.D., From that time onwards Bandhavgarh was ruled by a succession of dynasties including the Chandela Kings. Bandhavgarh became more and more deserted gradually until forest overran the area and it became the royal hunting reserve.

Bandhavgarh remained the private property of the Maharaja until he gave it to the state for the formation of the National Park in 1968. After the park was created poaching and hunting were brought under control and the number of animals rose dramatically. The number of tigers in particular prospered and the 1986 extension provided the much-needed forest area to accommodate them. There are accommodations for tourists for overnight stays at the resort.

Three successive Mughal emperors – Akbar, Jehangir, and Shah Jehan – helped create this massive structure that contains Hindu and Muslim architecture. Overnight stay at the Hotel in Agra.

Sunrise proceed to visit the famous white marble mausoleum, The Taj Mahal, which was built in the middle of the 17th century by the Moghul emperor Shah Jehan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal.

Completed in 1652, skilled craftsmen from Persia, Turkey, France, and Italy and some 20,000 laborers worked for 17 years to build this edifice. Later drive to New Delhi 220 kms/4 hour drive. On arrival transfer to the New Delhi International Airport to board a flight back home.
